I feel like I've gotten lost in our summer busyness!!!
First, we took a trip out to AZ for a few days.
Then we came back and it was back and forth from LAX 6 times in two weeks, for Faith and Kylee's best friends from Illinois. (It was totally worth it!!! We had a blast and I got a visit from my fabulous Jacki to top it off!!)
Next, the girls headed to camp, and when they got back my dad and I took the kids to visit their Great Aunt and Uncle in Portolla Valley and a small jaunt to San Fran.
And here we are.
We attempted to get back to school last week, and somewhat succeeded. I really wanted to get some of our turn ins under our belts, and we did get some accomplished.
But this week is back to crazy. Faith is at Disney with the youth group today, tomorrow the girls have shots and check ups, and Wednesday the boys and June bug have shots and check ups. I am sure some school will be accomplished this week, just not sure how much :)
And our biggest news, in the midst of all this we decided to MOVE!!!
When we moved here, we knew we wanted a house with a pool, but it just wasn't in the cards a year ago. With the approach of the end of our lease we decided to look and see what was available. We found two ads right off.
The first was not a fit, but the second house was too good to be true.
It is a great house in a GREAT neighborhood, with a pool, 5 bedrooms, and it is about what we are paying for where we are at now!!
We moved quickly, because you have to around here to get a house-with-a-pool rental.
So, we can officially start moving our stuff over August 15th. That is a Monday.
Not sure what happened there :)
So, I am going to spend that week moving boxes with the kids and letting them swim in their new pool, and the following weekend we will move the big stuff.
For now I am cleaning, throwing away, packing boxes and reevaluating the boxes that we have not opened in the year we have been here.
Mike loves moving Kristen :)
(sarcastic font anyone?)
Well, got to go, will write tomorrow, because there is more exciting stuff on the horizon, something about me and Mike participating in a 200 mile relay...

Is that A Baby Ruth In the Pool?
Ew.
We had a Caddy Shack moment in the pool yesterday.
My kids were swimming and all of a sudden some kids, on the end I was sitting at, screamed,"There's poop in the pool!"
The kids who shouted it then continued to dive and look at it.
After a couple of minutes they went and got the life guard. This is where I realized that there might possibly be poop in the pool.
I retrieved my kids and their friends out of the pool and we watched the poop recovery process.
The lifeguard stood on the side looking at the suspected poop, not trying to get it out with her net, and also not blowing her whistle to empty the pool.
Now, I don't want to tell her how to do her job, but if there is suspected poop in the pool, BLOW YOUR WHISTLE!
Then the six children who discovered the poop begin diving for it! (where are their mothers?)
They are diving and chasing it around the shallow end until one comes up and says,"EW, it's slimy."
Then the littlest one (maybe 7) catches it. (Seriously, where are their mothers?) Puts it on the side of the pool. This is where the life guard takes out her rubber gloves!
I am in complete and utter shock at this point.
Then she picks up the possible poop, squishes it, smells it and declares to the other lifeguard, "Yeah, it's poop"
Then they blow the whistle.
But that isn't all folks. I am packing up to go home and sterilize all my kids when all of a sudden, I am covered in a powdery substance. Not knowing what it is I begin to brush it off. Faith's friend's mom is sitting next to me and says,"It's in my eye! She just threw shock in the pool and she got it in my eye!" The very same bright life guard who didn't blow her whistle with the suspected poop had just thrown chemicals all over me and several other moms.
I would have tried to rinse off the chemical that was eating away my skin, if the showers hadn't been full of kids trying to clean the poop residue off of them.
We all came home and scrubbed.
Got to love group pools!

As you can see she wasn't thrilled. kylee was too busy swimming with her friend to stop for a picture but I did get one.

The Return of Faith
I took a little blogging break for the weekend. Lots of stuff to talk about but I won't dump it all in one post. The most exciting thing is my girl came home!!!
Mike brought Faith home Friday evening around 6pm. Man did we all miss her. She had a great time. I am glad she went. She is going to be posting stories and pics, here in the next couple of days.
She really is a great kid. She always has been really mature but since she came home from camp she seems even MORE independent. That is a good thing. But she did assure me that she missed me a lot while she was gone. I don't know how true that is but it feels good to believe it so I am going to.
Now that Faith made it back alive Kylee hasn't stopped talking about going to camp next year. I hope that will be an option for her.
Wow, if both girls are gone and the boys are, oh I don't know let's say, visiting Nana and Papa in AZ, than Mike and I would be alone...Huh.....
Is it wrong to go on a cruise while your children are at camp?
